Authoritative Data for Wayfinding - Part II - Workshop

It is clear that the use of wayfinding and GPS applications have changed our nation’s traffic safety landscape. In September 2020, NSGIC hosted the first forum on authoritative roadway and address data into the hands of GPS and wayfinding companies. The September forum brought together local, state, and federal GIS leads, along with the major GPS app and wayfinding companies. This workshop will continue the momentum from the September meeting and further advance collaboration. The workshop will cover a brief overview and status update, discussion of proposed approaches incorporating the National Address Database and the Work Zone Data Exchange Standard (WZDx). Also covered in this workshop will be licensing and disclaimer language necessary for consistent data exchange.
