Using GIS for the COVID-19 Response in Maryland

The state of Maryland's COVID-19 site for reliable and authoritative information about health and safety topics was launched on March 14, 2020. This site, hosted on the Esri Hub platform, was developed and is maintained, monitored, and continuously improved by the Geographic Information Office within the Maryland Department of Information Technology. Alongside partners from the Maryland Department of Health, Maryland Emergency Management Agency, and the Governor's Office, the site provides access to vital statistics in the form of interactive maps and dashboards and, to date, has been visited by 6.5 million users. Visitors have access to more than 30 COVID-19 publicly available datasets for exploration and download. In addition, site visitors interact with and gain a clearer understanding of information on testing locations, impacts to congregate living facilities, and contact tracing statistics.
