At the 2021 NSGIC Annual Conference, AppGeo offered an on-demand presentation (Part I in a three part series of webinars) that presented the concept of three models or frameworks - Centralized, Decentralized, and Federated - each providing a description for how states are facilitating their collections of geospatial datasets through the cooperation of government and non-government partners.
In Part II of the webinar series (held on November 3) we discussed Centralized and Decentralized models, exploring their characteristics and alignment with certain data types.
Now, in Part III of the series, we will continue the discussion and focus on the Federated model with our special guests Ken Nelson (Kansas GIO) and Eileen Battles (Kansas Data Access and Support Center Manager) who have implemented an exemplary federated model for the GIS data needed for Next-Generation 9-1-1 in Kansas. We’ll explore:
Through this three part webinar series you will learn about alternative ways to organize the development of statewide spatial data based on these three models and grounded in actual state experiences. This webinar series draws upon AppGeo’s experience from more than 40 completed state strategic and business planning projects.
Come join us for a presentation that is sure to spark some deeper thinking and discussions about the approaches you may be using and perhaps might consider adopting.
