The Operational Reality of Statewide Data Ambitions: An Exploration of Three Models Part II: Centralized and Decentralized Models

At the 2021 NSGIC Annual Conference, AppGeo offered an on-demand presentation (Part I in a three part series of webinars) that presented the concept of three models or frameworks - Centralized, Decentralized, and Federated - each providing a description for how states are facilitating their collections of geospatial datasets through the cooperation of government and non-government partners.    

In this Part II webinar, we make a deeper exploration of the Centralized and Decentralized models, covering the following core topics:

Part III of the series, to be held on December 8, will continue this discussion with a focus on the Federated model, with our special guests Ken Nelson, GIS Section Manager, Kansas Geological Survey, and Eileen Battles, Manager, Kansas Data Access and Support Center (DASC) who have implemented an exemplary federated model for the GIS data needed for Next-Generation 9-1-1 in Kansas.
