Doing a Lot with a Little: Engagement and Outreach in a Pandemic

The State of Georgia's Geospatial Information Office, like many states, leveraged and learned as much as possible during the pandemic: about their partners and how they work, about the geospatial and comms tech and how it can be leveraged to bring people together to do good work, and about their communities and their appetite for transparency and DATA. As they moved into "regularly scheduled programming," they were able to leverage a lot of the relationships and technology they harnessed for Covid-19 to accelerate their Next Generation 9-1-1 program. They also had to get creative (to protect their communities and their limited time) with how they engaged their stakeholders and gathered information. During this presentation, they will talk about what worked, what didn't, and what they are trying moving forward to bolster and unite their GIS and 911 community around this important program.
