As is true in most states, there are many organizations within California that build and create geospatial datasets, however, there is not currently a central database repository for the authoritative datasets. This is going to change... the state has hired a new GIO, Isaac Cabrera, who is working to help spearhead this effort. Learn about the work in California to put together data governance initiatives across state agencies and local governments with a goal to share and roll the data into a Statewide Spatial Data Infrastructure.
